Slightly imperfect, but still beautiful. I’m sure there’s some deep meaning to be found, hidden within this photograph, but really, I just thought it was a pretty scene on the beach :)

And forgive my promoting, but the Savannah Soap Kitchen is having a 25% off sale. Stock up for those Easter baskets and Mother’s day!

Chipotle Jalapeno Hummus and Potential Plagiarism?

March 29, 2009 | Filed Under Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Chipotle Jalapeno Hummus from athyme2bcomforted
Photograph by me, hummus by athyme2bcomforted on Etsy.

Sometimes, I like to sit around photographing food. It doesn’t move (usually) and it’s relaxing. How? I don’t know. Anyway, I won this hummus from an EEAT team blog giveaway. There are a few more goodies on the way (I’m so excited!!), which means more fun food photography in the coming weeks.

Oh. You’re probably wondering about the potential plagiarism, too, aren’t you? Right, let me get to that. I was doing my regular blog-reading rounds and found myself oogling Haley B. Lamb’s blog and thinking “Hey, every time I come here there’s a new awesome picture staring at me” and then thinking some more “Wait a minute, that’s really cool. I wonder if I could do something like that for my blog” and so I did. I’ll probably be adding a lot more “header” images, but for now there are just 4 – I think. Thanks for the inspiration, Haley!

In other news, it’s almost dinner time, but I had to share those two things. Thanks for reading :)

Conch Shell on Tybee Island beach

Walking along the beach at Tybee Island, I stumbled upon a near-perfect conch shell lying in the sand. I took many shots of this shell, from many different angles.

This angle features the incredible spiral pattern detail and sparkling sand behind. There are three more shots of this shell, which will be shared later. However, if you simply can’t wait, you can see them in the gallery right now. :)

In other news, if there’s no rain tomorrow (although, there’s an 80% chance, according to the weather channel) I’ll be vending at the Trustees Market from 9am-3pm next to the Pirate’s House.

Thanks for reading!
PS – Anyone notice the welcome mat is missing? I think it’s best this way. :P

Little Wing – A little bird on River Street

Firstly, Little Wing is a beautiful song performed most recognizably by Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix. The title seemed to fit this photograph, too, though.

This photograph was taken on a slightly breezy day down on River Street in Savannah, Georgia. There were about 15 of these little birds all hopping around, looking for food scraps, no doubt – and generally being adorable.

While I was sitting on a bench, staring out at the passing river, I heard a little flutter behind my head. I pulled my camera from my bag and ever so slowly turned around and snapped. Five burst shots later, he was gone. Luckily, I managed to capture a cute pose.

Forsyth Park, Savannah Georgia – Black and White

You might recognize this. It’s somewhat similar to my “Walk’s View” photograph – except this one is black and white. Most people don’t believe me when I say it was taken at Forsyth Park, but indeed it was. (Near the Fragrant Garden, looking toward Drayton.) I do love this view.
